Richard Palomino is a self-made artist in the Old Master technique. Cindy studied under him in France for 2 years.
Richard Palomino, aka Lilla Duva was born on 18 December 1956, in Noumea, New Caledonia. After various stays and trips overseas, Richard and his family settled back in France. Madly passionate about drawing, since a young age Richard studied human and animal anatomy. He then decided to enroll in Montpellier University of Fine Arts. Disappointed by the French cultural policy prioritizing contemporary art and condemning figurative art, he reluctantly starts medical studies instead. In 1983, he graduated as a dental surgeon. One of his patients, Michel Viot, painter and art teacher, introduce him to classic painting and conveys his passion for classic art. In 1989, he decides to give up his job as a dentist to dedicate himself to his passion. For over 10 years, he immersed himself in the study of the ancient oil cooking techniques, resin dissolution, making ancient mediums, as well as sculpting 2 life size statues made out of wood and semi-precious stones: The Panther and the Cat. He paints on wood, copper or canvas using the same techniques as the ones used by Rembrandt, Caravaggio, Rogie Van Der Veiden, Kalf.
